Getting started
What is POLARITY?
Live, interactive game shows where you actually play — race the buzzer, read the crowd, climb the beam, and crack the signal against players anywhere, hosted live by @POLARITYJOSH. Anyone can watch; sign in to play.
Do I need an account?
Only to play. You can watch any live show and read every game's rules without signing in. To buzz, answer, vote, or wager, sign in and pick a username.
How do I sign in?
Tap Sign in (top-right) and continue with Google — no separate password to remember. On your first sign-in you'll choose a public username.
How do usernames work?
Pick a unique handle (3–20 characters: letters, numbers, underscores). It's how you show up on the buzzer and the leaderboard. Names are moderated — no impersonation, hate, or obscenity. You can change it later from your profile.
Playing a game
How do I join a live game?
When a show is live, it appears under Live now on the home screen. Open it and tap Log in / play. If the game is set to "select players," the host has to add you first.
How does buzzing work (Signal Grid)?
When the host opens the buzzers, hit BUZZ as fast as you can. We measure your reaction from the moment your screen shows the buzzers open — so your connection speed doesn't decide the winner.
What are lifelines / "Ask the Hive" (Tractor Beam)?
When the contestant calls the crowd lifeline, every signed-in viewer gets to vote on the answer. Tap your pick — it glows — and the live tally helps the contestant decide.
How does the Final round work (Signal Grid)?
You lock a wager, then the clue appears and you draw your answer right on your phone or with your mouse. The host reviews everyone's drawing and wager and scores them.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes — everything works in a mobile browser, and you can install POLARITY to your home screen (look for the install prompt, or use your browser's "Add to Home Screen").
Surveys (Hive Mind)
What are surveys?
Quick crowd questions that become the board for the Hive Mind game. Answer the open ones on the home screen or the surveys page — the most popular answers score the most points when two teams face off.
Why did a survey disappear from my list?
Once you answer a survey it drops off your list — you get one answer each. If something went wrong, a host can release it so you can redo it.
Your account & privacy
How do I change my username or avatar?
Head to your profile. You can change your username, pick an avatar, set your region and time zone, and see your stats.
How do I delete my account?
From your profile, choose delete account. It removes your profile and frees up your username. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Is my data private?
Your username, avatar, and scores are public (it's a game show). Your email is never shown. We don't sell your data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Hosting (staff)
I'm a host — where do I run a show?
If you've been given a Manager or Admin role, a Control Room link appears in the nav. Schedule shows, build questions and surveys, set up a game, then hit Host when it's time.
Trouble & more
The board isn't updating / I can't buzz.
Live features need a steady connection. Refresh the page, check you're signed in, and make sure the host has opened the buzzers or the round. If it persists, send us feedback below.
How do I send feedback or report a bug?
Tap the 💬 Feedback button (bottom-right of any page) or open the feedback form. Ideas, bugs, and notes all go straight to the crew.
